The Table...This
pretty looking table is probably one of the easiest to build. It
was designed with strength and structure in mind, while keeping the design
simple yet versatile. It can be built fairly quickly if you use a veneer
top, but we prefer to use laminated hardwood for durability. Also,
you may live in an area where solid hardwood is cheaper than with oak
plywood.
This
table was designed to accommodate the mission-style dining room chair plan #03-300. The table length in this plan is suited to place 8 chairs (6 side chairs
and 2 captain's chairs). You may, however, choose to alter the table
length if you want to reduce the number of chairs. The appropriate table
dimensions for various place settings are as follows: 6 chairs, table dimensions
of 40 1/2"w x 72"l; 4 chairs, table dimensions of 40 1/2"w x 60"l.
Note: To achieve the tapered legs shown
in this plan, you will require the Taper Jig plan # 03-900, or similar guide.
