This
is definitely a useful jig to have around the workshop. The table saw taper jig
is a popular shop-built item; it is cheap and easy to build. It makes
taper cutting easy and accurate on your table saw. It is also easy to use and to
adjust. You will love this jig; whether tapering table legs or cutting desk
sides, it makes repeating a cut simple.
Most of all, it makes tapering of
materials a rather safe operation if you follow simple procedures. This
particular jig was made of solid oak but you may use another type of material
such as plywood. In the end, you should easily build this jig in only a couple
of hours.
Finish used for this project: water-based Flecto Varathane Diamond Wood Finish,
in a satin sheen.
