Originally
intended to store firewood at the camp cottage, this storage bench was designed
with simplicity in mind. For extra seating comfort, you can even add an
upholstered foam seat cushion. Although this project is built using
laminated solid pine and plywood, you may choose to use only plywood veneer
instead. As for the joinery, we kept it very simple by using butt to edge
joints or butt to face joints secured in place with dowels and glue.
Another alternative to using dowels can be biscuits or screws, and hide them with wood plugs.
Finish
used for this project: water-based
Flecto Varathane Diamond Wood Finish, in a satin sheen.
